That's all you can do with any relationship is to take it slow and see where it goes. Good luck! If your family is decent and they realize or know he is a good guy, I wouldn't think they would have you choose between him or them. But they probably might be concerned because of your past mistakes. But we all make them. So good luck!

The guy I am dating has the barbed wire around both of his biceps...he had them done when he was 18....now he is a cardiologist, and a good guy. He was never bad; tatoos don't make someone bad.

Like Jessica Rabbit once said:
"I'm not bad - I'm just drawn that way"

I find it a little disconcerting... and it puts in the back of my mind, well what does it mean if he doesn't get my name tattooed? Although I would never want anyone to get my name tattooed and I would never tattoo someones name on me...
I've never heard a tattoo referred to in this manner. And no, why on earth would I want to date anyone with someone's name tattooed on their skin?

I had to take a second look at this thread. I'm living in cattle country now....it gives the title a whole new meaning.

I wouldn't be thrilled if my SO had his ex's name tattooed. I don't love tattoos, but I don't hate them either. If it is to honor something that's important to a person, more power to them.
