I prefer being the leader. I have always been a better leader than my partner. I am normally the one that's more mature, the one with better judgment as well as better decision-making skills.

What I meant was that most people fall into one of two categories in how they generally approach life: they are a leader or a follower. I don't think they change in that approach in their relationships. There are positives, that I can see, with either approach.

I think your over simplifying things. There are times in life where the same person will play each role.
In romantic relationships, DEFINITELY leader. Women with dominant personalities turn me off so I rarely get involved with them (unless they are very attractive.....but even then, those don't last).
As far as friendships, it depends on the person. If a person is much better at a particular skill than I am, I eagerly follow them and seek advice. But, overall, my friendships tend to be more equal.
