Geez, Phil, did you enter this, too? Just got it as the word of the day.

mental virginity

The general state of mind characterized by complete ignorance about sex and human reproduction.

Dude they think that sex ed teaches us a heck of a lot of stuff we didn't know, but the truth is, we lost our mental virginity a while back.

Sometimes this place feels a lot like the Land of the Mental Virgins.

Just came across this: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/misspelling
I wish everyone on the internet had to learn it and live it before they're allowed to post anything anywhere.

When my dad died my mom went to get a job. She was a college graduate but had never worked before and at that time it meant being a waitress, degree or no. She did that but it wasn't enough to feed everyone and keep the house so I had to quit school and get a job. Between us it was enough and the other kids finished, eventually going on to advanced degrees. For myself my sweetheart and soon to be wife had a little surprise for us growing in her belly and I would stay working.

I have no grief over this, it is why I struggle at spelling and I imagine have many assorted grammatical errors. I just wanted you to know I don't do it on purpose and I have been trying to improve all my life.
