My Dad was an attorney and couldn't spell for $%^&...My Mom was in the hospital so my Dad had to write me an absence note for school for the first time, neither one of us could figure out how to spell "sincerely"...I probably spelled it wrong again!!
My dad was the same way- excellent with math, great electrician, can't spell for crap. Then again my math skills are horrendous.
You were handling business, you won't get any grief from me... I think sometimes people can get real snobby about advanced education.
I'm for education, but if someone is gonna be a dyckhead about it, I'd much rather deal with the guy with real life smarts and real responsibilities, sitting in a classroom isn't the real world, as far as I'm concerned. I'll take the guy that makes the occasional grammar error any day over those arm chair nobel laureates.
Agreed. I see a lot of that here and in my opinion, that attitude says more about the "educated" person than the one they are putting down.
When my dad died my mom went to get a job. She was a college graduate but had never worked before and at that time it meant being a waitress, degree or no. She did that but it wasn't enough to feed everyone and keep the house so I had to quit school and get a job. Between us it was enough and the other kids finished, eventually going on to advanced degrees. For myself my sweetheart and soon to be wife had a little surprise for us growing in her belly and I would stay working.
I have no grief over this, it is why I struggle at spelling and I imagine have many assorted grammatical errors. I just wanted you to know I don't do it on purpose and I have been trying to improve all my life.
I think you are doing a great job. I'm guilty of correcting grammar here on CD, but I try and resist the urge (and it's hard I tell you!) unless it's repetitive and blatant. But heck, I've made plenty of errors...either typing too fast or just not thinking clearly. So shoot me.
She MIA?
Oh, damn! I see now!
There's no one to guess the lyrick in my status anymore!
