I've bought used vehicles. A new one depreciates too much when you drive off the lot, & i get a much better price for a used one. If i have a mechanical problem, i'll do the work here providing i have the right tools.
I've done both and each have the pros & cons, but anymore I rather pay someone to fix it. Spending spare time fixing cars lost its appeal years ago.
I heard western MA had problems, but we're east. Last night a branch hit a power line, so the neighborhood was out for about 3 hours. In the last 5 minutes it's gone on and off twice. I need to go check my fish tank, the pump is old and losing electric always messes with it.
For emergencies i have a portable generator, but here the power hasn't gone out in a couple years.
Not my little angel fish. And she's not doing too well. Besides the fact that she's like 102 in fish years, she has a swollen belly, which is probably some kind of bacterial or parasitic infection. Her mate died months ago, so it's not babies. I cry when my fish die.

I don't know. I do have candles all over the place and my husband has an obsession with flashlights, so we can manage a bit. A quiet generator for the fridge and fish tank would be nice, but they're never quiet.

Yea, I should really invest in one. I used to have this light, car charger, plug in your radio, thing that had about 8 hours of life, but it was stolen from my car. Not that it would be as good as a generator.

It's not just our house. Our house is pretty old ('48 I think), tho not as old as some of these New England creekers. The wiring is pretty bad.
