Do you know the trick about standing up and pressing down hard on the floor with the ball of the foot? Sometimes that stops the cramp. You might have to pivot the foot around a bit to find the "sweet spot", but it's always worked for me and my students.
Yep. I know all about standing up and putting pressure on the foot. I typically stretch it out too, which helps a lot.

Not that I'm sexist (!) but women rarely can get the right amount of pressure delivered through the correct hand position to the proper point unless they've been trained.
The banana thing is potassium - one of the "old school" cures. It still works, of course, but only if you have a K deficiency.

Good lord. My legs are massive. If I had cramps in my legs every day or every week, I probably wouldn't be able to walk.
I was always the opposite, bigger upper body and scrawny legs and butt.
