And you wonder why the "look" is endangered? I give it to you, you call me a creep, I slither away leaving a slime trail behind me ... and then you CHANGE YOUR MIND and start batting your eyes at me!

I actually don't think the "look" is extinct - it just morphs into that stunned-cow "look" that men get when they've experienced too many femme fatal flip-flops like this.

You're Italian... Most of the descendants of those boring Puritans never had THE look or even had a clue what it's about! This doesn't have much to do with the current state of affairs. It's just that the majority of the people here descend from cold-fish countries.

As with everything else, if she finds you attractive, the "look" is a good thing. If not, the "look" is bad.

I know that the man I ever wanted the most was always looking at me with "that" look in his eyes and it made me want to be him that much more and maybe the reason that many men are unsuccessful with women is because they're afraid to look at women in a way that communicates their desire--but players aren't afraid to look that way--at many women. Of course this can be difficult b/c a man doesn't want to come across as creepy, but then the man I wanted the most did get labeled by me as a creeper at first. Once I realized that he and I had a lot in common, I changed my mind quick enough.

OTOH, my ex never could manage to look at me with desire and I never did want him that much--he never complimented and he never gave me the look. I'm glad he's my ex.
I've been with guys with and without the look. I'm not knocking "desired" look, but I want my guy to have other desires.

desire to take out the trash...without me asking
desire to make up the bed...without me asking
come back from the grocery without a wrong item

True, but my impression was that Stepka was talking about already established relationship.

+1

street "harassment" is on the verge of being illegal in the neurotic Anglican world

visit a mediteranean or latin country, it's a way of life

and let me tell you what, it might annoy the women but it also keeps them simmering right on the verge of boiling

You don't want a guy - you want a domestic servant.

Well mostly I was, but I was also thinking about the fact that a man that I found unattractive at first managed to win me over with "the look" and then I was crazy about him. This was years ago but we've been talking again and he told me that he had the biggest crush on me back then but it was bad timing for us to be in a relationship. I'm beginning to think it's still bad timing--and he's a yang too. Oh well.
