Let me relate / paraphrase a part of "the art of seduction" by Robert Greene. Greene describes the different "types" of seduction in terms of weaknesses/desires of the opposite sex. I don't agree with the adversarial language of the book, but it's a great insight on human nature.
In a nutshell, the desire to be desired is not exclusive or owned by women.
There have been many threads about infidelity since I started posting here, and I remember some where men who had cheated and women who had slept with married men had posted. Many of them said that the wife was cold or derisive, while the "other woman" was warm, welcoming, flattering. He was lonely and she made him feel manly and desirable. Cheating is not a good thing, but I think it's very important to keep the home fires burning. Keep that light in your eyes for one another.

While some women may be like the wife by nature, most are not. They turn this way because of the problems and the lack of romance in the marriage. Most men don't realize the new woman will become exactly the same later should they not get their act together. Garbage in; garbage out... If you expect to put no effort into something and only reap rewards, it ain't gonna happen, no matter who the person is.
Yeah. What Julia said. Honestly idk why some men cheat. It's like what was the point of signing the marriage vows if you were gonna violate them to go for the newer model?

That's true. Both have to work on keeping the love alive.
