About 2 years ago, I had a close circle of friends. My ex boyfriend and I were together in this circle for a year or so. When we broke up one of the girls in my circle decided to take sloppy seconds then throw it all in my face like it was my mistake she found true love. Well, karma came to kick her in the butt and now they have broken up. He has moved to another state and she is now back living with mom and dad. This girl has a reputation for being a "Town bicycle" and ever since her and my ex got together, we have not spoken... Until she moved back to Tampa.
Now the rest of the males in the group would not consider a relationship of any kind with this girl but choose to be friends with her. I refuse to talk to her because this is the second time she has turned her back on me. (Forgive and forget the first time)
She is constantly showing up in places where me and the rest of the group hang out and making snide comments, rude remarks, and dirty looks. Since her return I have simply ignored her and gone on with my life, but I will not be able to ignore her forever.
Growing up the way I did, the second burn shame on me so I refuse to even try to make amends with this woman, but it is apparent either I cast myself out of the group and make new friends, or let her screw me over again and just say F*** it...

Reason: foul language
You title says to handle this like a civilized adult....then be polite. That's what civilized adults do. You say hello, how are you and let ot go st that. You don't have to be best friends, just polite. But if you prefer the drama....

This. You don't have to like her but you don't have to be rude either. It's crazy 30yos act like this
You can treat her like a civilized adult - don't just ignore her, at least give some sort of greeting when your friends hang out together. If she continues to make rude remarks to you, then politely tell her that you don't appreciate being treated that way and that you hope the two of you can be civil about this. If your friends stand by and do nothing about her nastiness to you afterwards, then I would find a different group to hang out with.
What I would do is pubicly tell her you have a list of old boyfriends if she loves men that did not make the cut.
