Which of the two, seems to have a healthier mindset (in a very general sense)?

I know it comes down to individual personalities, but for the sake of argument, hopefully let's try to let in some opinions based on well-founded observations and experience.... but as always, please no flames and just constructive discussion

between my husband and myself I believe it's me.
My husband has a stressful job which requires him to always expect the worst.
Consequently, that carries through to all areas of life.
I view that as being negative.
I tend to try to "look on the bright side" which I think keeps me positive, happier[mostly] and thus healthier IMO.

You just described us as well. If my kids want cold, hard facts dad is the man. If they want bright and cheery they come to me. It's kind of nice how it all balances out.

I'm confused. You want to have a conversation based on sweeping generalizations, rather than the fact that it DOES come down to individual personalities, and that gender has little to do with it? Background, upbringing, life experience, genetics and heredity all contribute.

Well-founded observations and experience are going to be as individual as the people who respond, so what conclusion are you hoping to draw from this?

In my own personal relationship with my husband I would have to agree with this.

I know it's not true for every couple, but my husband has the ability to not notice or not really give any extra thought to anything. It's not always a good quality, but I think he has a lot less stress than I do sometimes.

Good grief. I can't see how there is ANY way to generalize THIS much. No way. Far too many different personalities and dysfunctions and perspectives.
