Why would YOU contact them?! I guess because you know they're flakes. I assume a normal person would let me know if something unexpected happens and I don't have time for flakes.
It's not because they're flakes, it's because everyday life can get in the way of the best-laid plans. Maybe an extreme example, but I had a GF completely forget about dinner plans because she'd spent the afternoon at urgent care clinic with her son. Sh*t happens.

Exactly. For a date, I rarely confirm if we have already confirmed on phone or email/text about meeting at X time and Y place. If she can't remember, then either I'm not that important or she's very disorganized. Either way, next!

I usually do this, too: a quick "we still on for tonight?" call or text usually get's a "yep, see you tonight!" response. Though there is the occasional "I've got food poisoning, I'm so sorry!" or other rescheduling.
So....why do women do these types of things? the flaking, that is.
Because they can.
She probably has a zillion guys messaging her on that site.
If you had a bunch of women messaging you daily, you wouldn't care either.
