Again, reflexive action. No time to ponder. It is a moot point if it is something you've known for an hour or a lifetime.

It seems like an instinct from men to protect women, not an instinct women have to protect men. Not sure if a woman will run to help a man in danger, just not that common. Psychology maybe?

sure its instinctual for your mother, wife (especially if she's the mother of your kids), and Ltr Gf, or a child. I wouldn't say that's the case for any random women you encounter or meet.

I doubt that. Maybe in your world. There are just as many others who would call BS on your statement.

Who says it's not common? Do you have any links or statistics to back that up?

As a woman I've actually rushed to save 2 strangers (men) in my lifetime.

It happens.

There's also the guy who ran out of the theater, got in his car and drove away, leaving his girlfriend and their two children inside, so it's not like everyone was brave and heroic.

It's a reaction more than anything. No time to think when a bullet is coming at you. They may have thought that they had a better chance to survive getting shot than the woman.

I'm sure a white knight would, but that's their world not mine.

In my personal life I work with children from time to time, you better believe I think they're worth saving. I can't say the same for random females I don't know.
