I haven't been to the city in YEARS at Christmas time. I think the last time I went was right before we had our kids.
I go every year. My birthday is the first, so it's my way of celebrating and also getting a triple shot of holiday spirit. I absolutely love Christmas in the city. LOVE it!

Sounds like a great gift!
My b-day is in March...it's usually an oversight. Honestly, most years it's a very, very last minute gift or cake and I know it was an "oh crap...we forgot" kind of moment. I'm guessing it makes me younger though, since we haven't celebrated ALL of my birthdays, right? LOL, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
I've grown so accustomed to it that I just buy myself something nice. Best part is I always get just want I wanted
This year I'm going to Beaufort, SC for a race. Get myself a nice little room at a B&B and tour the area.

My sister's birthday fell on the first too. I haven't been back to the city in over 6 years . But the heart of NY lives in me always. Most of my nephews and nieces still reside there.
I still dream of the city (my birth place,) and have many great memories of the state. I Hope you have a great time.
Okay, new rule on tattoos...no tats on ginormous, obese people. Just my personal opinion. Won't to into the rest of the story...but I am still traumatized.

Sometimes it helps to talk out the trauma. Besides, I am curious.
As I say... Yes, I will fix it. I don't need to be reminded every six months.
Oh I finally figured out how to put a stop to that nonsense.
I just pull out the wrong power tool and say "honey, is this what I'd use to fix that???"
That usually gets him moving.
We have been talking about painting our bedroom for the longest time. I have color chips. This weekend I'm going to buy the paint and get it all set up...and I can guarantee you he will step in and stop me...and then he'll get to doing it.
I could have fixed that without even bothering the husband. Just start showering in his shower
I would leave turds in the shower.

Me too, when I discovered what it was I thought this was too easy to be true, but it wasn't.
It only took me two years, but she won't nag and she knows if something is actually broken it is taken care of straight away.
