It maybe a stupid question but I am just curious. Would you date someone who has an accent of another country? If you are from U.S. and they were raised from a different country but speak really good English. Why and why not? Thanks.

I came to the States from the UK when I was six. I lost my accent in about six months, something I've always regretted. Of course I would date someone with an accent. I can't imagine just how shallow someone would have to be to make an accent a deal breaker.

I have always told my students that "there is no stupid question" ... but I may have to rethink that.

No, of course not. Who would want to date anyone with, omg, an ACCENT?

What an intriguing question...... I'm inclined to say probably not a haven no.

To answer the OP though, yes. Yes I would, I did and I married one.
