A quick question out of curiosity first... does what a guy drives matter? Honest answer. Also, there's talk amongst guys about how women love men who drive manual transmissions (stick shift). Is any of this crap actually true?
Okay now my actual question. Is not having a car a deal breaker? I'm relatively new to the area I live in so I'm slowly creeping back into the dating/social scene. I don't have a car, my two modes of transport are my motorcycle and my bicycle. I can't imagine women would appreciate being picked up on the 1st date on a bike. So what do you say? I'm young enough where no one would question it, but I'm obviously getting older and really don't foresee my vehicle situation changing. Quick, cheap, fun, and efficienct. Deal breaker or no? And I'm not changing my ways or anything, just curious as to what ladies on here think.
It depends on where you live. If you live somewhere with lots of public transportation, it shouldn't be a problem. Otherwise it might be if she has to pick you up in her car all the time.
I never wrote a guy off for his vehicle, but a guy certainly got points for having a well kept vehicle. My husband scored a lot of points for his vehicle. I didn't know what he drove when we met, but when we walked up to it, I thought "Wow! That's a sweet truck!"
I don't know if I could have dated someone without a vehicle...not where I live anyway. I might have written someone off for that.
Oh and a guy who could drive stick was a plus. Why, I don't know? I guess because it's something I couldn't/can't do? (yet. )
Could just be that the guy is just good with his money ... and if something long term comes out of your date, you will both live a lifestyle in prosperity because you're with someone who isn't a spendaholic. Someone too dumb to see the big picture I wouldn't worry about. Not a huge loss.
