This thread reminds me of the old school pick up line where you go up to a woman and say "How do you like your eggs in the morning."

Hey, don't get mad at me, I didn't make it up.......

Oh, no. I am not a morning person and it takes me a couple of hours to tolerate people in general. I'm sure I wouldn't make a great impression at 9am. 11am and I'm good.

Nope, bloody marys and mimosas are considered a standard part of brunch, at least places I've been.

My first date with my current SO was a coffee date, but it wasn't in the a.m.

I don't have an issue with breakfast dates, I've just never had one for a first date.

Weekend brunch at bars/restaurants generally extends well past noon, often until 3 or so. Even if somebody had a drink at an early brunch (say 10:30 or 11), I wouldn't view it any differently than if they had one at 1:30 or 2.

Generally speaking, I agree that evening dates leave more room for romance should there be a spark. Often times, though, people may want to have more than two dates in a weekend, or may have plans with friends Friday and/or Saturday night, which means people need daytime date ideas sometimes, too. Brunch works well for that.
