Have you ever been hit on when your kid is with you?
I was at the grocery store, and saw this beautiful woman. We made eye contact, and I looked at her up and down, smiled, may have turned my head a little to see her butt. Then as she passes me, I see her son (maybe 10) giving me the stink eye as he passes me with the shopping cart.
We see each other again in the dairy and smile.
I couldn't think of a way to break that kind of ice, unless asking her son who is the hot lady he is with, and is she single.
It's happened on occasion, the most recent being earlier this week (I made a thread on it- I was hit on by a teenage kid who thought I was younger than I actually am). Anyway, it can be a bit awkward, especially when I'm out with my son and we're doing something that typically isn't me putting myself in a position where I want to be hit on.
I haven't, but I'd imagine the key to that situation is to hit on her like you're not hitting on her. Subtly allude to her looks but keep the conversation benign and the flirting to a minimum out of respect for her child. I wouldn't even ask for a number but instead give her a card with mine, or my email.
Ha, obviously tough to pull off if you're normally awkward though.

Sometimes, though, it's obvious that the kid is with her and that the situation isn't ideal to be hitting on her.
The men should just be prepared for rejection if the woman is focused on other things while with her kid and is not in the mood to be hit on.
