Or by a perfect stranger or someone you had only been dating for a very short time? Several of my female friends (and my current gf) have had this happen to them more than once and I was surprised that some people do that.

Yep but a couple guys on a FIRST date that I hadn't met before and even by a guy BEFORE I met him. One guy even had a ring ready and another asked if I wanted to go to the jewelry store at the end of the date.

The guy I met online on our 2nd date said we will go look for 'our' house. LOL. He just moved and is looking for a house and said since I am his gf (lol, ya right) that we can look together.

I suspect he just wants to use my 'share' in buying it. He also just kissed me without asking first. And that cemented my decision not to see him anymore.

My husband and I married and we barely know each other since we only started dating Nov. Last year. I am so happy though and so in love. In fact he was the one who remember and greeted me coz it's our first month wedding anniversary today.

Yes, and it's the weirdest thing. One of the times was after the first date, what? Of course my answer was no and the rest of the day I was in a fog. I had thought the guy was normal on our date then he did that. Was he trying to get rid of me perhaps?

I am surprised to hear of your stories. I did not know that that happened so often.

Yes! I still have a guy doing this after I've told him I don't even want to date him!

No, this has not happened to me-but I wouldn't want someone I didn't know well to have such cookie-cutter designs on me
(imposing a framework of expectations & commitment on a relationship that has yet to even begin, according to my p.o.v.).

I've had more than one guy do this over text message, half jokingly. These were online dates and we hadn't even met yet. Once we met, they decided I wasn't even worth a second date, much less marriage

I did have one guy propose seriously after a 15 minute coffee date, he had a ring and all and said he asked every woman he went out with and statistically one of us would say yes. I was not that one woman, needless to say.
