yes they probably do. I have read a number of things that were incredulous and ridiculous. The fact that other people will then buy into it, is just as funny. But hey what can you do? That's the internet for you, take it with a grain of salt.

Of course, some stories are true, some are false. I am more inclined to believe the stories where the person keeps mentioning some experience they had because it is harder to lie about a story one keeps mentioning.

Here's the problem: There's such crazy shyt and crazy as shyt people out there so it's quite possible that these stories are true. Also, don't forget the people who have absoutely NO COMMON SENSE so I can see why these things keep happening to them over and over again..
