I've done a fair share internet dating on and off over the years and haven't had too much difficulty getting dates until I started to use the free sites such as POF and Okcupid. I used to think it was due to the fact that there were probably a lot more guys online than women therefore skewing the ratio out of wack until I stated to notice something.

All the women I ever corresponded with seemed interested at first, we would chat for a couple of hours until one of use had to get off line to bed. The next day or two would go buy, I would go online to send them a message and I noticed that they were online also. Days go buy without a response, every time I go online to see if I might have missed a message I notice that their online.

So I start keeping tabs and check in the morning and there they are online, I check in the afternoon and there they are online, I check at night and yup you guessed it online. Not only are they online all day but there online everyday for months and even years on end only take slight breaks to go to bed.

And so the question is, have theses sites turned many women into full blown attention seekers or have they convinced themselves that the perfect man is still out there? They spend countless days and month after month searching for someone that only exits in their imagination? It seems like these women are stuck in fantasy mode. Some of the women are fairly attractive so it's not like they can't get a date. But I've noticed that some of the more attractive women have been on these sites for so long there looks are starting to go south, I've noticed one girl who's been on the site on and off for 5 years!! What the hell are they looking for?? Out of all the guys you can't find one in that time.

I just don't get it, while other people settle and move on with their lives some are just aren't satisfied ever. The search never ends, the grass is always greener on the other side.

I came across a male profile with a disclaimer stating something to the effect that he wasn't actually online all the time, but his account showed as if he was online all the time. Possibly is could be a glitch if someone downloads the site's app to their cell phone?

This.

Apparently, there are certain apps that say you're on all the time...I know my android app said I was logged onto okcupid 24/7 unless I manually logged out.

As for a woman not being able to find a decent man, those sites are full of users and liars and sometimes it can take a while to weed through them all. Then, the chemistry isnt always right and that doesn't mean the woman is making the final decision. Men reject women all the time on those sites.

No I don't think so, it sounds like that guys a smooth talker though, trying to get women to believe his bs. " I'm not actually online chatting with other women, it just looks that way" lol. Besides regardless of the times during the day it's the duration, like I said I've seen the same girls on these sites for years.

Or maybe their computer is just on that website? Lol you have way too much free time on your hands, if you're so obsessed with such silly theories.

It says I'm always on facebook chat, but that's just because it's on my phone.

It's not a silly theory it's a fact of life. You get logged out automatically after a certain amount of time passes without any activity. Besides, how do you explain being online day after day, month after month, year after year?

Unless you have the app on your phone which keeps you logged in all the time.

I think the bigger question is....who cares?

Incorrect. FB apps only log you out if you change your password or manually log out. Even my home computer shows as if I have an 'active' FB session on my account activity even when the computer is physically turned off.
