Today's, it's Brad Pitt, Matt Demon, etc.

30 to 50 years or so ago, it was men who look like this:

30 years ago it was dudes like Burt Reynolds and Tom Selleck. Macho guys with hairy chests and mustaches. Not those nerds posted above and definitely not the metros/(mod cut: inappropriate comment) of today like Justin Bieber or Taylor Lautner.

Brad Pitt UGH Never thought he was attractive! He has such weird looking face.

George Clooney is another story, he is like a Chanel suit, always trendy, always hot.

Just more evidence on how people find different people attractive.

That's what I was thinking. I don't know how old the op' is. Must be extremely young. But I don't know who gave him/ her this information or where he/ she got it from. I've never heard of Matt Demon either. Is he a monster or something?

I agree, It was way more of a macho image back then. Being hairy and rugged was the in thing, Now it's hair remover and botox for men. I think many woman even today are more attracted to the rugged type that looks like they can protect them and provide for them. I may be wrong but this is based on things I have heard from a lot of women personally. No, Not ex girlfriends either.

I think men were definitely more rugged yrs ago. It seems like the pretty boy thing is more popular today. Works ok for me as I'm not a very macho looking guy, but yeah.... IDK what happened to "tough" guys.

It's Justin Biebers that women seem to like nowadays.

I think the metrosexual thing has gone way way too far. When you see dudes with eye liner on, and they ain't in an 80's hair metal band.......

Let's see, 30 to 50 years ago would put us in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s.

Hate to burst any bubbles here, but while Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Burt Reynolds, Tom Selleck, and Harrison Ford were considered hot, so were Warren Beatty, Jim Morrison, David Cassidy, and John Travolta. Not exactly sunburned Marlboro Men there, so we can do without the slam on "metros."

Now, of course, we'll be hearing about the sexual revolution and the feminization of men, and how men were men before the 1960s, at which point I will remind the easily threatened that Rudolph Valentino was probably the original "metro." Also, for the uninformed, Rock Hudson was gay and Errol Flynn was bisexual, so we can do without the homophobia, too.

And then there was Elvis. Can't get much prettier than that.
