I realized my joke might be a little bit "poor taste" and he took it as an insult.
I don't blame him. Wow I can't believe you even said that.

Either way, I will not use that term anymore. It doesn't bother me because it was a joke (poor taste maybe)

But boy or boy, Did I learn my lesson?
Why would you give a "pet name" to a man you haven't even met yet, anyway? IMO (as a veteran online dater before I met my guy) that signals too much investment prior to meeting. You are bound to be disappointed if you continue to interact with guys like that. Let them earn the right to be called a pet name by you, by taking you out and treating you well in real life.

Oh he earned that right. He is hot! lol but I know what you meant.

I am not serious about anybody right now. =) just want to share a silly story to make op feels better, that is all. Nothing serious.

I know I perhaps will get "attacked" by saying this. I realized months ago that dating site at this stage of my life means flirting and casual fun for me. Nothing serious and I doubt it ever will be. I have been accused by several men online that I was not a serious dater, I perhaps am not a serious dater. Maybe in several years, I will take dating serious again. Now it is just casual fun.
