I also hope I'm happily settled by 43 (I'm currently 33). I've been single for nearly 6 years, so I'm more than ready to settle down and enjoy life again with someone. But if OP is okay with it, that's fine. Good for her! If I am still single at 43, I'll find a way to deal with it and continue doing all the things I love. But I really, really hope I'm not still stuck in the dating game for another 10 years. That doesn't make me particularly happy, but maybe I'll have a different outlook in 10 years.

I honestly don't think Miss Lucky meant anything harsh with her comment.
