I'm still perplexed by how many people are saying this. By definition, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 is the worst it can possibly be, and 10 is the best it can possibly be. There is no lower or higher than the end points of the scale, same as if the scale were from - 10 billion to + 10 billion.
Is there something about the scale that doesn't feel right? Would it feel better psychologically (even though it would have the same mathematical significance) if it were a scale of -5 to +5 or 0 to 9 instead of 1 to 10?
Or do you want it to have more than 10 points on the scale, to allow for more specificity? Like maybe -50 to +50?
These are honest questions. Maybe one of you could post a poll with a scale that feels better to you, so more people would vote?
i don't know about the other people, for me, I've said that here isn't a number that correctly defines my romantic life right now. 1 is greater than 0, and negative numbers are less than 0. For the people who aren't voting, that might be how they are thinking.

Right, but it's a scale. It's not an absolute value where zero means you have zero lovelife, one means you have one lovelife, and 10 means you have ten lovelives. It's a Likert scale where 1 is the worst and 10 is the best, and everything (every lovelife to ever exist, even yours) falls on some point between those polar opposites. Maybe some people just don't like scales, or can't grasp the more abstract nature of it?
What numbers would you like the range of the scale to include? Or would you like to not even have a scale at all?

Personally i don't care for scales.
1 isn't a number that describes my romantic life, since it's non-existent, so it can't be a 1.
Also, my left shift key sometimes doesn't work. This kind of irks me.

Why does -273 pop in my head? the temp in which matter and energy stop moving?
Absolute zero, right?
It's been a while since physics.... I wish I could recall that stuff better. Too much beer between classes. Good times!
Oh! and the thread subject. currently, 0 I suppose. No dates = zero I deduct. kinda like absolute zero.... no dating activity at all.
