Menopause caused my wife to lose desire, in part because she lost a lot of genital sensitivity. She went on bioidentical hormones. They were great and she was on them for quite a few years. Then she got ovarian cancer last year. It's possible that the hormones contributed to that. So be careful out there. Your body doesn't last forever and unfortunately, certain parts break down along the way before everything finally stops.

Ugh, I'm doing the bio identical pellets currently! My sex drive went up during pre-menopause, then nose-dived as I went into it. The bio identical were the only thing I tried (over a 5-10 year period) that brought it back. Not ready to stop them as I hated not feeling anything down there anymore, it was depressing. It was especially hard when I was dating, I mean how do you tell a new guy you are pretty much dead from the waist down? I am so grateful I feel normal again now (my brother is too lol) Will make sure to get checked regularly though. Hope your wife is doing well now.
Her cancer is now in remission. She was at stage 4, which has low survival rate. Now in retrospect, she thinks she may have stayed on the hrt too long. She had a big surgery at chemo. Now she's on a drug that takes the estrogen out of the body.

Wow, glad she overcame the odds! How long was she on them?
I had a hysterectomy when I was 53. Instant menopause, full stop.
My sex drive has decreased somewhat, and I'm OK with that. My sex drive has always been higher than any one I've ever been with, and honestly...it's nice to not have it at the back of the mind all the time.
