I noticed that my parents don't hug or kiss anymore. They've been together for 31 years and married for 22. I just don't think you should ever stop.

Maybe they are "old school" and don't show affection in the public. You can still love someone deeply without hugging and kissing in the front of everyone.

The man is almost always more affectionate than the woman in a relationship. Most women don't like to give affection and intimacy.

True but if they used to and don't anymore, it seems more likely they've grown apart. The OP did say that they don't hug and kiss "anymore", which suggests they once did. My parents have been married 37 years and they still hug and kiss each other in front of people (to an appropriate degree of course).

And what exactly gives you the authority to speak for most women - or most men?

We hold hands in public, hug and kiss. Neither of our parents showed a lot of affection to each other in front of us and we want to be different in front of our kids. We never want them to wonder what we wondered about our folks -- whether or not they loved one anotehr.

We hug and kiss every day, and we hug and kiss our children. My parents were not demonstrative or affectionate with one another when I was growing up, although they are somewhat moreso now. I think it's healthier for children to witness physical affection.
