True but if they used to and don't anymore, it seems more likely they've grown apart. The OP did say that they don't hug and kiss "anymore", which suggests they once did. My parents have been married 37 years and they still hug and kiss each other in front of people (to an appropriate degree of course).

We hold hands in public, hug and kiss. Neither of our parents showed a lot of affection to each other in front of us and we want to be different in front of our kids. We never want them to wonder what we wondered about our folks -- whether or not they loved one anotehr.
We hug and kiss every day, and we hug and kiss our children. My parents were not demonstrative or affectionate with one another when I was growing up, although they are somewhat moreso now. I think it's healthier for children to witness physical affection.
