What is the best type of phony two-faced method of approaching a woman you are interested in, in order to make conversation? Like a fake scenario where you have to engage her in conversation.

I am NOT good with the typical pick up lines. (Are you an athlete, because you've been running around my mind all day. Etc)

i want to like you, given the username, but i think you're probably not going about this very constructively...

just say hello. have a drink or two first if it helps. be funny soon and frequently. be attractive, don't be unattractive

How about, 'You seem nice, so I thought I'd come up and talk to you.'

For 'nice' you can substitute anything that is not visual. E.g. don't say, 'You are pretty so I thought...'

I had a guy ask me about yogurt in the store. I also had a guy who approached me on a running trail because I was limping.

I dated both of them.

I always find conversation to be the best reason to approach a woman.

Not every guy can catch, even when the toss is perfect.
