The question is far too broad and does not give enough detail about circumstances, so it is difficult to answer.

Given that my family is nuts, I'm totally ok dating someone they hate. However, my two favorite cousins would cut out their own tongues before they would ever tell me that they disapproved of someone I cared about.

You mean would I stop dating somebody that my family hates? I would do a double take and re evaluate the person but, I would not drop the person just because they say so. I would just look at the person more carefully and try to see what the family sees. Then, go from there.

Be prepared to move away from your family or not be involved with them if you want a long term relationship.

You would probably have to choose between family and a spouse if you were to marry.

I married her. In hind site, I should have listened to them. Sometimes love makes you a little blind to the obvious.
