Uh, not sure how that works since in flies in the face of the definition of the word. It also negates open marriages and polyamorous relationships (which are committed relationships), but whatever.

So, does that mean a threesome is out of the question?

Honestly, I think I'd have to actually be in that situation to know what my definite answer would be. I love my husband so much and would want him to be happy - but I also can't imagine being okay with him being intimate with someone else.

The fact that this is being asked makes me feel like society is heading for a nose dive.

Really? Someone from the county clerk's office stops by with a divorce certificate to sign? I had no idea.

What I am compelled to examine is the motivation for the relationship to begin with .
Honestly.
Sex is inherently selfish ,be honest, not noble.
Women use sex to get men , oldest trick in the book.
Once she owns him , the game is over and sex is not so important to her after a few kids, but it rarely changes for the guy.
A guy buys a car with the expectation of being able to drive it and enjoy it , the same with all of his investments.
Some men upgrade the car because they intend on keeping it indefinitely .
True there are guys that have to have the latest and greatest ,not easily satisfied, that's the few not the many.
For the most part men don't often change things or want them changed for a diminished representation .
A guy sees a girl the same way, and does not take very well in this bait and switch women do.
In a few years when scientists can grow babies in test tubes, and a woman's body is no longer needed, the same way men are treated now, I wonder how it will be with the shoe on the other foot?
This is an indulgent society selfish through and through .
There is no NEED for another person, just to have sexual release.
Sex with some one, is using some one else's body to satisfy a selfish desire, an abuse of another person, even if it's mutual, a defiance of design .
Kids are usually an accident, hence this society has determined, self pleasure is more important then human life.
Homosexuals defend their position because it produces no children.
It is still abuse =defiance of design .
And yes am saying man and wife having sex purely for pleasure, is defiance of design.
The design is to reproduce.
Holly wood and porn make it seem as though sex is the only reason we have to live , I assure you it is not.
But a selfish indulgent society will never choose to see thing any better than they do now.

As for marriage ,examine your vows ,this is you word your promise to that other person and their agreement with you. It is a contract.
What does your word mean to you ?
If it means very little , then any thing you say is worthless. promises are thrown out like shallow flattery .
So , choose your words carefully thoughtfully and accountably.
In the end that is what you are held to.
If you don't plan on being exclusive , why make a false promise to be exclusive?
If this is a mutual understanding, (in a marriage contract) it should be in the publicly witnessed vows .
If there were no deforce, law would not be involved, neither would government be involved .
The legal system is not going to let this one go ,too much money is made in this industry.
Technically Those that have no faith in God making promises before God is hypocritical . Gong through motions you don't even believe in.
Marriage is a God ordained institute , man has simply abused it.
What man and wife vow before God is between them and God .
If they reverence Him, their vows are held with the same value as their personal commitment to God is valued.
A man or wife breaking their vow to one another puts their word value, at risk before God. It's just good common sense.

I most likely would. I can't say for sure, though, because I'm not in that situation.

I see you are one of those "sex is dirty" people. Sad.
