I met this woman on OKC the other night and she was not too excited about my first meet suggestion and was like..........."I;m not in high school anymore" and would rather go to dinner and a movie?

So only teens like to sit outside on a nice summer day and eat ice cream? Have you ever heard of something so silly? How does she know that ice cream meeting would not lead to dinner if things were flowing the right way? She clearly is hungry and looking for a free meal

Sounds like you two are simply not compatible. No need to over analyze or read too much into this.

An ice cream date does sound a little silly. Why not coffee or happy hour? Picnic? Visit to the art museum?

Eating ice cream takes 20 minutes. Then what? Find an activity where you can linger and talk.

Why is it silly? It can be followed by a walk and talk in the park? I mean isn't that a nice meet up for a summer day?

I would never suggest it in December

See - and I LOVE ice cream so I wouldn't mind meeting up for ice cream. Everyone is different.

OP - just move on and find someone you are more compatible with.

Well I don't particularly like ice cream, but I wouldn't suggest dinner and a movie as an alternative...maybe coffee, a soda or a walk in a park or something similar. Dinner and a movie seems a bit much for a first meeting.

Then invite her for an afternoon in the park. She doesn't know that is what you envision so spell it out. Ice cream can be optional. Some people don't even like it.

Maybe you should have mentioned something along those lines?

You've gotta be able to brush some of these things off if you're going to do online dating. It also wouldn't hurt to ask her why she feels that way.

Online dating isn't always easy. Sometimes it's good to just take a break and only check your inbox for a while.

So don't meet her. No need to overreact. I wouldn't like an "ice cream meet" either, but for me it would be about my food choices. I'd rather go for a walk somewhere, meet over coffee, or see an art show. Play putt-putt. Something of that nature. But no big deal...some people just have different expectations. Leave it at that and move one.
