What would you think of your SO if he/she checked with his/her parents on a lot of stuff?

True. I obviously am not close to my parents. My thinking is I don't want to bother them.

It goes both ways for me. My parents ask for my advice and help just as much as I do them.

I spent Sunday fixing their John Deere that they got so mad at because it wasn't running right, my Mom was about to have it hauled off. lol

Mom even was swearing....that means she was pissed. lol

I am not entirely sure I agree. We all form circles of people we trust - who we recognise as a good source of wisdom - knowledge - and advice. Who those people are can vary from person to person - regardless of your age and circumstances. And for many people our parents are in that very cicle and they are always going to be the "go to" people for such things.

We are all dependant on others in many ways. That for some people the "others" are still their parents does not say as much about them as some might imagine.
