I'd feel uncomfortable. In many ways being put on a pedestal is being handed expectations that you may not feel you live up to.

I would just keep reassuring her that I'm nothing special. I mean there's a point where I can imagine it can get really annoying, but I have never experienced that before.

It is unknown how one would feel about this situation unless they had already been put on a pedestal once and have something to compare to.
Personaly I don't get my self worth from the opinion of others so it really is a moot point.
