I agree, nothing ventured nothing gained. You can artificially control your relationship and hold back, but then you miss out of the highest drug nature has created for us.
I personally just "re-emerged" from a head dive and finding myself in a mundane situation, involving routines, his kid, his work and other real life issues. I feel we've both cooled off and at this point it's just up to us to decide if we are really meant to live together and have a family etc or is it time to move on.
So far his presence in my life is much better than absence, so I'm not going to let go off him just yet
I'm hoping the hot madness can come back in the right setting sometime again. For that... I'm willing to sit through play dates, cook dinners and a lot more)).. for as long as he treats me as his best friend of course.
I think we just have to realize that nothing as intense as the immediate chemistry rush is either common or long-lived. So it's best to take it for what it is - amazing temporary experience.
