Bill Maher is one of the most arrogant smart assed know-it-all jerks I've ever seen. I'm not even talking about his politics, just his demeanor and what not screams arrogant jerk.... LOL....
So pretentious practically makes me ill to watch him... I sort of feel the same way about John Stewart, his idea of comedy is saying something and mugging for the camera with a look on his face that says "Look how funny I am".... cheap humor and is lacking in any kind of creativity..... Hack comedy.....
John Stewart isn't hilarious, he's hack......... total and utter hack, no comedy, just tongue in cheek crap that gets old after say 5 minutes....no offense to those that like him... he just isn't a good comedian....

I personally find Jon Stewart to be about a thousand times more clever and creative than Bill Maher (and about ten million times less dour and sour, more importantly), but I totally get how people may find either to be self-righteous and/or smug.

I'm liberal but I'll confess that I love conservative guys. They are more manly in general than liberal guys. They tend to be more assertive and unapologetic. I'm talking moderate conservative here not bible thumpers or tea party types.
What's a moderate conservative? I thought they went extinct back in the 80s.

Tongue-in-cheek humor IS humor, though. It might not be your particular favorite type of humor, but that doesn't make it less so. Personally, I'll take political satire and sardonic tongue-in-cheek humor over most other forms of humor any day. But I don't deny that slapstick, absurdist comedy, certain types of improv, etc. constitute comedy, just because they're not my preferred style.

So you like morons who never believe they're wrong? That describes Rush Limbaugh to T and the moment you hear his show you'll likely be converted. I don't think you're really a liberal at all. I sometimes find conservative women physically attractive but would never have more than a sexual relationship with one.
