Then we wandered through the quilt shop and I made a small purchase and signed up
for a class that is taught in 2 weeks from today.
Then we stopped in the old (69 year old) coffee shop and spent a wee bit of time.
Then I came home and he went on his way.
...Happy Birthday!
sounds like a lovely day.

I have been a recovering alcoholic for 39 years now but I do have a rare drink but mainly for special times like this weekend.
We were celebrating our Son's marriage and we got to finally meet our Daughter In Law who is Chinese and still lives there.
We had several Champagne toasts. Then I was done and drank water or tea the rest of the evening.
I like my Champagne with pineapple chunks in it instead of strawberries, thankfully there was pineapple available.
I must take the time to write:

What strength! What control! And how proud your family must be of you!

Oh. And congratulations on your determination and stick-to-it-tive-ness!

They removed a day from thanksgiving holidays, though .

You should know this from just being around me.

It was referred to as that or a "blunt".

PS ~~ I was almost 50 at that time.
A "blunt" is referred to when the tobacco is removed from one of those cheap cigars then replaced with weed. It can be a mix of the two so as to eliminate the odorifus emanation of the cannabis.

I can't say I've ever seen the side of you that smokes fatties, or whatever you call it.

Not you...your wife and I, although we do get along...but I didn't think I needed to state the obvious.

The first and only concert I have ever gone to was the Doobie Brothers, I lasted about 10 minutes inside the building and had to go outside for the remainder of the concert. I could not stand all the smoke and stench and I smoke cigarettes but the air was so thick with pot smoke, blech.
