I suppose they can. There are whole articles on the internet dedicated to deciphering signs of flirting. I wouldn't know if somebody did that to me, they'd have to be really direct with me for me to know they were interested in that way.
I've never been good at picking up on flirting... But it's definitely possible to do it without words. Eye contact, body language etc.
Last time I was flirted with may have been when I was talking to a girl on facebook a couple days ago, she seemed like she was a little flirty.
Other than that I was at a party a couple weeks ago and talking to this girl quite a bit. I would do stuff like tease her a little bit, give her attention, at one point I leaned over and brushed something off her leg.. Eye contact is a big part as well.
My boss. Yesterday. Gross. Told me I am hot and should wear shorter skirts.
The young kid working at my gym. Yesterday. Not sure if cute or funny. Told me we should go out.
The old fart at the gym. 3 days ago. He wore a wedding ring. Told me he wants a 3some. Not with me and his wife. With me and another friend of mine.
12 years ago was the last time I was flirted with. Girl was trying to make her boyfriend jealous I think. I was proud that like a crafty bass I did not take the hook. A few months before that a girl I knew said she liked my haircut. Maybe she was just being nice not flirting.
I can't think of a single instance of flirting since then.
We'll about a year ago a waitress may have been flirting with me while I was waiting for takeout. I mean she was teasing me about something "negging" me in some way and then she said "I like to pull people's chain" or something. She was smiling at me and kind of acting weird. I think that was flirting but I'm not sure.
Wish I could answer better, but I think I am oblivious to flirting. The only reason I know someone flirted with me (the last time) was because my friend said so (and I still doubt that she's right). This was several months ago.
Anyway, I was with my friend at a museum, we just left the museum and were on the street heading towards the metro when a solider stopped me on the sidewalk and asked if I knew of any place in the area to eat. So I gave him a few suggestions. He then proceed to walk with us and tell me all about himself, where he was from, how he's new to the area, how it was a pretty day, etc, etc, etc. I chit chatted with him for a while and eventually we parted ways at the metro station.
She insists he was flirting/hitting on me. From my perspective, he was just being polite and was new to the area and making friendly conversation. Nothing about what he said had the least bit romantic hint or tease to it at all.
See, this kind of thing (random men talking to me) happens all the time. Especially in the elevator at my office building. But it's just small talk like above and I don't think of it as flirting, but I think some people do. I just figure I tend to smile and say hello to everyone and it breaks the ice for people to be friendly back... and it's nothing more than that. So I don't know.
This guy on facebook....after two years of not speaking, he comes back around.
Another time about a week or two ago it was at the gas station, two older men drove by in a pick up and one of them was trying to flirt with me. Then at the same time someone else rode by and blew the horn. I think it was my brother's car that got me the attention though.
My boss. Yesterday. Gross. Told me I am hot and should wear shorter skirts.
Ahahahahahahaha.....
