If she was cool, I was attracted to her, and we had some good chemistry. Of course. Why wouldn't I?

"Fun"?! Wouldn't that depend on his/her personality?

I dated a psychologist for several months; she wasn't all that fun.

As long as his job doesn't interfere with our relationship, I'd give it a chance

I think you should definitely see a psychologist.

Never dated a psychologist, but was banging a chick that worked in pathology, had three degrees and one of them was psychology.

During the first month, she began psycho analyzing me and coming up with numerous theories about me, even going so far as to as to say I had Asperger's Syndrome (like WTF?) because she said all I talked about was skydiving, sex and metal bands. Like seriously, I've seen the movie Rainman: that SOB wasn't exactly jumping out of planes and hooking up with hot chicks.

Our sexual behavior together became increasingly more extreme and as a result she started saying I had 'fetishes' etc, and she was analyzing my childhood, claimed I liked dominating women (and degrading them) sexually as a psychological response to being controlled by Catholic nuns during my childhood/school years.

It went on for months and I never told her I have a vasectomy since I figured she was trying to get pregnant, although one of the ways we were having sex was unlikely to produce a child anyway (another alleged 'fetish' of mine LOL).

Anyway: it just got really old after a while, being a psychological lab specimen for a self proclaimed psychologist.

I got out, and a few months later, the estrogen based sociopath was pregnant with some clown she had on hold during our relationship.
