If your significant other or someone on a date tells you they arent a good communicator, do you consider it a major red flag?

Communication is #1 unless you are looking for a one night stand.

Yes.

The fact that they know this and "put it out there" like that sounds more like they are setting up an excuse, though.

How important is water when making ice?

How important is the stomach to the digestive tract?

Today must be really boring for everyone at work.

I would think the questions here of, if someone should stay with partner after getting cheated on or asking if so and so are interested when they never text/call back are dumber, but that's just me. It's more of would you try and work through it?

Effective communication is essential in all aspects of life. If it's a must on your job, it is even more so within a relationship. To your question, yes it can be improved upon if and when it is lacking and hopefully such a person would take the steps to become better at it in their relationship. Pretty much everyone would red flag such a person.

If you are the one who went on a date or it is actually your SO-- you spent time with that person. You should know from the time the two of you shared if they were a good communicator or not. Just by them saying to you "I am not a good communicator" sounds like they did a good job of expressing their feelings to you. To me that sounds like a pretty good communicator!
I am probably too good at that and I am sure there are folks who wished I didn't "communicate" my feelings as much as I do.
