I'm sure this has crossed your mind already, but in case it hasn't: maybe the population there is transient, and he doesn't want to get involved with someone who might be leaving again in a few months?
Indeed, it has. I moved here for an opportunity that requires a minimum commitment of three years. I didn't post that on my online profile, but it does come up in conversation. I love living here, and express nothing but positive thoughts about the area. I don't think there are any guarantees that someone will stay in XYZ city for a specified amount of time, period.
In any case, this was an initial conversation, prior to meeting for any coffee, lunch, walk in the park date. Just struck me as odd, and I wondered if anyone had experienced it before. I'm not judging him. It was a new way of being eliminated from someone's potential dating pool. No hard feelings.
1. I make 20k a year
2. Live in a town of about 6,000. The nearby small cities are not places you want to be walking around alone at night.
3. Very bad social skills and boring personality
4. No friends other than an anon I talk to on the internet who is 4,000 miles away and is unemployed with apsergers.

Yea nowadays, income has nothing to do with it. A lot of women actually prefer lower income.
I've tried dating 3 women. All only lasted a month. After the last one left me for her ex husband who abused her, I just said **** it, I'll never ask a woman out again.

Jeez are you serious? I guess women have a different mindset when it comes to abuse LOL....I understand you completely. I was chasing a girl that is attracted to rotten teeth and tattoos on the forehead apparently. No wonder why she didn't like me. What a backwards world.

I'll never understand women and at this time in my life don't really care to understand them.

You'll feel better when you realize every relationship isn't gonna be like the ones on tv and there are going to be a lot f*** ups. You're gonna have to go through a lot of sour grapes to find a good one.
If you don't think you can handle...then yes leave it alone. But from your posts whenever a new girl you are attracted to comes along you do a complete 180.

Just relax.
This time, I really need a break from dating. No asking women out, no approaches, no going on dates, just time to relax and worry about me for a while.
