Not a big deal unless he's being overly controlling. Probably a better experience to date a slightly older guy who has more life experience.

When I married I was 24 years old and my wife just short of turning 19.
We have been happily married for more than 40 years, so working out ok so far!

There are 17 years olds going on 27, and 17 year olds that will always be 13.

I was asked by a 17 year old to take her to her prom. She sang opera, was a heck of a debator, good grades, great family (I stayed overnight as it was in another city), so the dynamics fit. It was a unique experience but I've never judged people on their age and I never will.

I’d be concerned if my high school daughter were dating a 20 year old. After they’re both in college or graduated from college, that’s different but I’d wonder what was wrong with a college man who was chasing a 17 year old high school student.

Once out of school and into the real world, a 3.5 year age difference isn’t a big deal. But there’s a world of difference in life experiences between high school and college.

Yeah because as you know 20 year old guys are very mature and wise as opposed to 17 year olds.

I dated lots of guys that age when I was 17. Nobody thought it was a big deal. I was more mature than them.

I’m not a father but it seems ok to me.

Women here in London in the UK will date older men, the high living costs mean thy look for someone on a bigger income. Even someone on £80k per annum can easily be penniless every month. If you want a raise a family in London you need a massive income. I assume some women date older men in Toronto for this reason?

I was shocked to see how hard it is for the young to buy a house in Toronto. Most seemed trapped in very high rental agreements. It may be worse than London.

The major problem I see with this is that the 17 year old girl should have grown out of a cradle. Time for her to be more demanding and get herself at very least a single bed.
