It depended on what I was looking for and what was going on in my life. There were times when I dated multiple people at one time - but I was in college, had an open relationship with my boyfriend that went to a college halfway across the country, and was just looking for fun. All 3 of my main relationships were with people that I got to know before we became romantically involved. Basically, we were pretty much in love before we started dating - so I didn't date other people at that time.
Well if we are including open relationships... yeh.. My previous GF and I had sexual relationships with others on multiple occasions; a circle of FWBs. It wasn't like we were hiding the fact that we were open from them so it really wasn't all that difficult nor stressful. No more difficult that any one else trying to remember the people in their circle of platonic friends.
However, I never considered that "dating". More like just enjoying the company of other friends.
I find dating more than one person to be awkward. I always feel terrible when someone wants to set a date for a time when I'm already going out with someone else. It's bizarre how often that can happen.
There's also the money involved with going out to dinner, the cinema, etc. with more than one person, and it cuts into limited time available for friends and personal interests. I suppose it's all about priorities.
I'll chat to several people, but will only date one person at a time. It would be too exhausting otherwise.
