Of course there are plenty of factors to this. For instance, if one is not answering a text for days and yet this person is active on social media, laughing and giggling with other friends, (or you know he could get back to you, just chooses not to)
However, if she seems to just disappear and no one knows what happened, then that is when patience is warranted.
If you are just left out of the loop, then there is no use fooling yourself, she is just not interested in getting back to you. Move on.
So yeah, it is important to be patient and make sure you know for sure what is happening before deciding what to do.
Yeah, sometimes the text does not go through for whatever reason. I've had it happen plenty of times before.
There are legitimate reasons for not getting back to someone.
But I don't think this thread is about that. It's more about when (we know) the person could get back to us, but shows that she is just not interested in responding (active social media account).
Yes. You clearly see that she is active on social media, she can take 30 seconds to post, but not 2 seconds to text you?
If it's a gf, yes, I'd be very upset if she ghosted on me and not contacted me for 2 days. It takes, what, 2 seconds to send a simple text....no one is that busy!
If it's someone I'd just met, and I don't hear from her for 2 - 3 days, I lose her number and never contact her again. I don't like ghosting; it's a stupid, childish maneuver!
Losing her number and never contacting her? I think that that is the definition of ghosting.
I've personally never had a set number of hours, days or whatever for this. It was always more of a general feeling. You can just "feel" when a person is into you. IMO (this is just MY barometer, it's not foolproof or anything for the general population, AFAIK), if I have to wonder, then my Spidey Sense is tingling. Time to distance myself and look around a bit.
Just what has worked for me. Sweating, wondering and worrying has NEVER bode well for the sustainability of a given association, for me.
