Ask anyone, male or female, what traits they admire in the opposite sex and "confidence" will be at the top of the list. Practice makes perfect so go ahead and ask for a second chance, and good luck.
If you don't tell her then there is a good chance you won't get a second date.
If you do tell her, what is the worst that can happen? You don't get a second date.
So where is the downside?
That she didn't actually notice or think he was nervous and now he's shown his insecurity for no reason.
What is the point of saying you're nervous other than to make an excuse and basically tell her give me a chance just because I was nervous? Do you want her to feel sorry for you and give you another chance? How would you really feel then by roping her in that way?
Just fake it until you make it and you'll naturally develop the confidence you seek rather than just rolling in your insecurities.
I say to tell her you were nervous, because nervousness is a human trait. I would admire the humble-ness. Just work it into the conversation wiling a chuckle. Don't be too serious. Folks should be able laugh at themselves.
