Yeah, but most likely is the guy who asks. So, yes - you pay, MrX, or you might get lucky and she will split the bill with you.

I had 3 dates with 3 different girls.

2 dates split the movie ticket bill and the date #3 paid for her drink.

If I get there first, I pay for my own drink while I'm waiting.

Take her to a cheap restaurant, just in case you end up paying for both meals.
Probably a better bargain than paying for the movie tickets and popcorn.

BTW: you had three dates?? That almost sounds like bragging...

I don't totally agree with this.
Context matters too of course.

But, if a (quality) girl wants you for you and not your money, they aren't going to be looking at that on a first date. If you aren't going for a quality girl, then by all means!

If it's been awhile and that's all a person ever does, then unless the girl is into cheap restaurants or being frugal like that and you know she is, then I agree it's a not-so-classy way to date. Cheap restaurant on a first date is generally okay. Depends what you're going for and the context.

One time, I chose a nice restaurant for a date for a few reasons. The person seemed interested in me. However, the person was a lot more muscular than me.
The person seemed to be doing okay financially and we were splitting the check. That was mentioned clearly at the beginning as well as being okay with going to the restaurant.
