Good to know she has your 'permission'.

You need to ease up, otherwise you will be subject to what is called a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy.

It comes across to me as being very sarcastic and suggesting that the woman is cranky and unpleasant. I can’t imagine I’d respond well to that.

And there it is. OP has been doing this for over a decade. Just under different handles.

If he relaxes and goes with the flow though, how can he keep his wits about him to come to the conclusion that he’s been duped out of dinner again? It’s how he really wants it to end.

Op knows the deal with women always wanting free meals and drinks, he’s no dummy.

You KNOW you’d sit in the rain for hours with a guy you can’t stand if there was free food involved, right?? We can’t get food on our own. We have no money and they won’t sell that stuff to us anyway.

I feel your pain on getting used for a free meal. That has also happened to me more times than I care to remember.
Since I don't date anymore, the good news is that it's not something that I have to worry about at this point.
But if I could go back in time and do things differently, I would ask my date how she was feeling about us before I payed the bill. If she "wasn't feeling it" or "Just wanted to be friends" then I would be like "Oh crap! I forgot my wallet!" So she could either pony up her part of the bill or join me in the kitchen to help wash dishes.

Well, you ARE right about that. Sitting in the rain and getting free and drinks are the only reasons I ever step out of my house!

Considering your expectations as shared here over time and your potential lack of social skills - maybe it is time for a change?
