To each his own, but don't give me this crap about "warped views" just because I don't share your mediocre, average views of the world. That doesn't make them warped. I have plenty of life experience. You are acting like I'm 16 or something, I'm closer to 30 than I am to 20, I know what I like and what I don't like. I know exactly why I don't want kids and your reason for thinking kids are so great sounds to me like someone who relies overly much on other people to maintain your state of mind. If I'm having a bad day I don't need anyone else to tell me it's ok or give me a hug, I just need to tough it up and make the best out of the situation. I'd prefer a harder life that creates more strength than always having some safety net there for me. "Only those who need to be strong will be strong" (Nietzsche).

Don't belittle my opinions because you think your status of having rotated the sun more times than me somehow makes you a superior authority on life matters.

Hey sweetie look.....I'm 27 and I have an amazing 6 year old....I'm also a personal trainer, a teacher and a full time student......I could sit here all day and tell you about how much strength it takes to raise a child....no one is stronger than a parent....not only do we have to be strong for ourselves but we have to be strong for our children as well.....sounds like you've had some tough times and i'm sorry if that's the case but don't assume that having a child makes you less of a person or somehow "weak"......it's the opposite acutally.....I wouldn't trade being a mom for the world......some of the greatest rewards i've recieved have been because i'm a mom.

I'm not saying that. My mom was a great, smart, strong woman. She worked out a few hours every day, always took great care of herself and of us.

I personally just don't believe in the kind of lifestyle that a lot of people want. I don't want to act as part of some "family unit." I want to make my own decisions for now and for all time. If I decide I want to move to another city right now, I want the freedom to up and move with no other considerations. A person with kids is also always more vulnerable than someone without. If theoretically someone was trying to get to me, how would they do it? They can't kidnap my kids. They can't do anything except directly to me, so I can never be coerced in that way. I want all of my time to be spent on MY happiness, not someone else's, and my goals, not someone else's goals. If my goals were not so ambitious, maybe I would have a different viewpoint. But that's just not me.
