Well the holidays are coming so it is time to cough up some money and bring out the gifts. But what do you do when you got Christmas, then the wife's birthday the first week of January, then our wedding anniversary the last week of January then Valentine's day a few weeks later?

haha, yeah I have my birthday on December 12, so I get two present holidays within a few weeks. It's good and bad. I frankly think it's actually pretty annoying. I mean some relatives skimp and think it's ok to give me one thing combined for both, when it doesn't justify that, it's like here's this $25 thing oh happy birthday merry x-mas happy new years have a good life! Haha, j/k. But it's annoying. Plus I hate the winter, why was I stuck with a December birthday?! Grr...

Don't exchange gifts anymore. My husband and I don't.

Oh, kitty, I see you have a history of Capricorn "issues"! I'm a December Cappy, though. It sure sucks to be born at such a wrong time.

As far as your whole problem, you're going to the cleaners... what else can I tell ya! I'd suggest skipping the gifts for the anniversary and VD and do a romantic weekend instead some time in between - resort, restaurant, spa... those things. Not that this is gonna be any cheaper.

I never noticed until you just wrote it that Valentine's Day is VD, like venereal disease. Nice. I gotta remember that. I've never had a date on that day, ever, or been anything other than single on Single's Awareness Day as I prefer to call it. God I forgot that wretched holiday is closer than it is far away. The best day of the year is the day after "VD" when it's the longest until the next one of them.

Don't buy any gifts at all!

Just wrap yourself in a ribbon/bow.

Girls have it easy in the gift department. If she dressed up in sexy lingerie and said "Happy Birthday" I'd be like, wow, greatest birthday present ever.

Just a card on VD and the annivesary - that's all I would want or expect. BD and Christmas, that's different!
