To the OP: I would have pulled her aside and tell her it wasn't very professional. I also wouldn't worry about waitresses flirting with a date/partner. Especially a 16 year old.
I mean he flirts with her and you take offense with her.She 16 for crying out loud. You may think he is evauating her but get real;he is flirting plain and simple. She probably is thniking more about how much the geezer is going to tip her if she makes him feel lke a kid again.

Yeah, but why tick off the lady at the table? This waitress girl needs to learn some better techniques for pleasing ALL of the customers that she waits on, not just the menfolk.
When I was 16, no way would I have waitressed like she did. What kind of manners did her parents teach her? It also makes me think that once she gets old enough, she'd do great working as a waitress at a bar or strip joint. Maybe Hooters is in her future.
Waitresses get paid by tips. Generally when there is a group of people, the oldest male at the table will pay the bill. Hooters exists because of the well known phenonom of men tipping more money to women who flirt with them. The waitress is young and hasn't figured out that flirting with men in the presence of other women is a bad idea.

Errr, I think women at Hooters get paid more for...um...well...the name says it all
You are right about the waitress figuring out that she does not need to be flirting in front of the mans SO...
With all due respect, Robyn, I believe it's you who "doesn't get it". You wrote an entire novel here on C-D about your trials and tribulations with your controlling husband. Now you're living with D, another controlling type. Asking why a 16-year-old makes you mad is the wrong question. The right one is asking why you keep making the same choices in life.
