Because nothing good can come out of race discussion. If you had interest in woman/man of another race but she/he has no interest in you, well, then move on, you can't "discuss" a woman/man of different race into falling love with you if she/he doesn't like man/woman of your race. If you had no interest in dating woman/man of another race, then why do you waste your time talking about it? In fact, most of the discussion you see on on-line forums are about intractable mess that nobody knows how to deal with. Just give it a rest and focus on people who do have interests in you and forget about people who may have problems with your race.

The problem is, it doesn't stay respectful. Inevitably someone will come on and utter some racist comment and then the thread goes off in a totally different direction - which is always a shame.

I don't mind discussions on race, color or anything else for that matter, as long everyone is treated equally-

I'm a bleeding liberal and strongly support my statement when I say, "I do not see color, sexual preference, ethnic background, or anything else that society choses to separate one from another. I see humanbeing".

Well my younger sister is white and she dates a black guy and my older sister dates an hispanic. It is just who you are atracted to.
But it is hard as I was brought up that whites are with whites and black with black and so forth. But love knows no color!!

(hush blue, don't even say anything)

True, but as communication a 2 way street, once can perceive someone who is being intentionally sarcastic and hurtful vs one who is just ignorant or not in the know. So the wrong direction can be avoided sometimes if people aren't quick to be offended and assume that people are out to tear them apart. That's not always the case.

Sounds like you need to get your legs amputated due to a severe bloodclot and gangrene.
