I just thought I'd pose this question, because I personally know a lot of females, who will not date a man who doesn't have his own transportation.

Is this a priority for you? Would it bother you to ALWAYS have to pick up and drop off every time you go on a date? Do you feel men are more tolerable than woman when it comes to this?

I think it's more expected the male has a vehicle, yes.

Can't say I really have known anyone male that would really factor this for dating. In many cases I think he might see it as a plus, as it adds to subconscious ego perhaps.
I could see it becoming an minor annoyance after awhile depending though.

Well.....here is coming from an old fashioned Mom.
I would hope that by the time he is ready to date, he will have his own car.

Yeah, but sometimes things happen like loss of job, where having his own vehicle may be the least of his worries. Or, he could own one, but he may be saving up to get a new transmission or engine or something.

Well, if he looses his job, then I guess he sets, until he gets another job.
If he has one, but is saving up for a new something or` nother`, then, I guess I would have to trust him with mine.

In a handful of cities in the US having a car is not a necessity. In most - it is. Not having a car here is pretty much a synonym of either being a student or a bum and I don't care for either one.

Sometimes I'd park somewhere and attempt to walk as I like to a little bit... say cross an intersection and go to the next strip mall (the trademark fun in the good ol' US...). Everybody looks at me as if I either have two heads or I'm a streetwalker...

For me, if he doesn't have his own car, he doesn't have a date with me. It sounds like a beginning for ME taking care of HIM.

Of course there are exceptions, in places where few people don't have cars to begin with. I have spoken with people who live in large cities that live using public transportation exclusively.

In NYC, it's really not considered necessary for men or women. I happen to have a car, but it does not particularly impress the ladies.

I realize this is the exception, however.

It sure is. We don't live the Sex and the City lifestyle, at least not transportation-wise.
